Brooklyn Nets v Milwaukee Bucks

The Brooklyn Nets (39-40) find themselves in a tight playoff race in the Eastern Conference, and will travel to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks (59-20).

Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks close out their regular season with three straight home games, starting with a matchup with the Nets. Even though they have already locked up the number one seed in the East, the Bucks are not slowing down. MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo is coming off of a monster game with 45 points and 13 rebounds, and is set to have another stat-packed performance against the Nets on Saturday. Antetokounmpo has dominated Brooklyn this year, and is averaging 29.7 points against the Nets this season. Expect Antetokounmpo and the Bucks to be a tough team to beat at home on Saturday in one of few remaining regular season games.

The Bucks have won two games in a row, and have a 7-3 record in their last 10 games. Milwaukee has been the best home team in the NBA, and has the elite home record of 32-6. In their last five games, the Bucks have remained undefeated, going 5-0.

Brooklyn Nets

It has been a difficult conclusion to a fairly impressive regular season for the Brooklyn Nets. After putting themselves in a great position in the East, the Nets have lost two in a row. The streak has put themselves back into the race for two final playoff positions in the Eastern Conference. One of those two losses came against the Bucks, making Saturday’s matchup the second meeting with Milwaukee in five days. Breakout star and Nets point guard D’Angelo Russell had a huge game against the Bucks just days ago, putting up 28 points and 11 rebounds. The pressure will be on Russell on Saturday, as he has been Brooklyn’s most productive player all season. Russell is leading the Nets in scoring, averaging 21.1 points per season. Despite the rough finish to Brooklyn’s season, the young guard has performed in a big way for the Nets down the stretch. Russell has scored 27+ points in six of the last eight games, including 44 point and 39 point outings against the Kings and Blazers respectively. Expect Russell to put up big numbers again as the Nets take on the Bucks in a must-win situation.

The Nets are capitulating late, and have been in bad from leading up to Saturday’s game against the Bucks. Brooklyn has lost two games in a row, and has a 3-7 record in the last 10 games. The Nets have a 17-22 record away from home this season, and have a 2-3 record in their last five road games.

Key Points

  • The Milwaukee Bucks have won four three games in a row against the Nets
  • The last 10 games between the Bucks and Nets have averaged 213 points per game

Our Verdict and Best Bets

The Bucks and Nets faceoff in a huge Eastern Conference matchup. The Bucks are striding into the playoffs playing great basketball. The Nets, on the other hand, are limping their way into the postseason. Brooklyn hasn’t been able to string wins together as the season is coming to a close, losing two in a row. Look for the Nets to bounce back against a tough Bucks team on Saturday in a big, must-win game. With just three games left in their regular season, the Nets are in need of a season defining win that will get them into the playoffs, and Saturday’s game against the Bucks offers just that. Milwaukee will likely limit the playing time of some of their big time players, creating an opportunity for Brooklyn to take advantage of.
