Detroit Pistons v Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks look to jump out to a 2-0 lead in their first round series with the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.

Milwaukee Bucks

So far, so good for the Milwaukee Bucks in the playoffs this season. MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo had an efficient performance in Game 1, scoring 24 points and grabbing 17 rebounds en route to a blowout win. Giannis shot 9-17, and only turned the ball over once. This type of play has the Bucks sitting pretty so far in the Eastern Conference playoffs. No Bucks starter played more than 25 minutes in Game 1, allowing Milwaukee to stay healthy and fresh as the postseason wears on. Expect to see another heavy dosage of the Bucks bench on Wednesday’s matchup as well. The Pistons are likely to trail early again in this one, opening the door for another blowout win for the Bucks.

The Bucks are in decent form heading into their Game 2 matchup with the Pistons. Milwaukee has a 7-3 record in their last 10 games. The Bucks are at home again on Wednesday, which could have an effect on the game. The Bucks had an elite home record for 33-8 during the regular season. In their last five home games, the Bucks have a record of 3-2.

Milwaukee Bucks Expected Starting Lineup
Eric Bledsoe, Sterling Brown, Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez

Detroit Pistons

The Pistons took a 35 point thumping in Game 1 of their series against the number one overall seed Milwaukee Bucks. Things aren’t looking any brighter for Game 2, as star forward Blake Griffin has been ruled out with a knee injury. The Pistons will miss Griffin’s point production more than anything. The forward was leading Detroit in scoring, dropping 24.5 points per game during the regular season. Youngster Luke Kennard led the Pistons in scoring in Griffin’s absence in Game 1. Kennard had 21 points against the Bucks, shooting four of five from three. If the Pistons are going to make a game of Wednesday night’s matchup, all of their guards will have to produce similar games. Look for Reggie Jackson and Kennard to be the players to watch for a wounded Pistons team in Game 2.

The Pistons are out of form ahead of their Game 2 matchup with the Bucks. Detroit has a 4-6 record in their last 10 games. Away from home, the Pistons have been unreliable, going 15-26 during the regular season. In their last five away games, the Pistons have a 1-4 record.

Milwaukee Bucks to win @ 1.08 (1/12) with Betfair.

Odds taken at 13:00 GMT 17/04/2019

Key Points

  • The Milwaukee Bucks have won their last six games in a row against the Detroit Pistons
  • The Pistons have averaged just 97 points per game in their last 10 games against the Bucks
  • Milwaukee has scored 115+ in eight consecutive games

Our Verdict and Best Bets

This Game 2 between the Pistons and Bucks could get ugly for the second consecutive game. This Pistons team offers few threats, especially without Blake Griffin. Milwaukee will not let this chance to go up 2-0 go to waste. As one of the league’s best home teams with one of the league’s best players, this one looks like it will be all Milwaukee. Bettors should take a look at the first half trend between the Pistons and Bucks. Milwaukee has led at half in six consecutive games against the Pistons. Expect this trend to continue on Wednesday, with the Bucks starters likely to jump out to an early lead at home in Game 2.
