As the 2019 Boxing calendar hottens up with various high profile fights already confirmed, it’s AJ’s turn to announce his next opponent.
The WBO, WBA and IBF champion looked to have the fighting world at his fingertips with a whole host of greats in contention to take on the champ, including Fury and Wilder. So, not quite what we were all expecting, and even with the location as this will be the first time Joshua has fought in the States professionally as he takes on Jarrell Miller.
Miller will be one of the heaviest opponents the British World Heavyweight champion has faced weighing in at 315lbs (22.5 stone).
It’s been rumoured that Joshua will pick up a cool £20million payday for facing Miller. With such paydays for the title holders, generally it turns out that the challenger will only end up receiving around a quarter of this sum for their own compensation. This will be the first time that Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller has been in a title fight too.
Anthony Joshua v Jarrell Miller Boxing Odds
No surprises in the early released odds which has Anthony Joshua at 1.14 (1/7) to retain his belts, and Jarrell Miller at 6.50 (11/2) to dethrone AJ. For anyone expecting a shock draw, the odds currently stand the highest with Betfair at 41.00 (40/1).
