NFL Offseason Roundup : Antonio Brown Demands Trade

Antonio Brown Demands Trade; Controversial Kareem Hunt Finds A New Team

The NFL postseason has heated up this week, with two of the NFL’s most explosive players making the headlines.

Antonio Brown took to social media on Tuesday, tweeting the following,

“Thank you Steeler Nation for a big 9 years…time to move on and forward”.

Since the tweet, multiple sources have reported that Antonio Brown has demanded his agent to formally request a trade from the Steelers. The request comes after a number of incidents that indicated that Brown desired to leave Pittsburgh. The trade value of Antonio Brown is currently up in the air, as his off field antics look to have some teams second guessing making a move for the All-Star.

On the field, there have been few who have produced at the rate of Antonio Brown. In his nine season career, Brown has recorded seven seasons with 1,000+ receiving yards, including a career high 1,834 yard season in 2015. Last season, Antonio Brown led the league in receiving touchdowns, recording a career high 15 TDs. Reports have estimated that the Steelers will receive a wide variety of offers, ranging from first round draft picks to players with expiring contracts.

In other news, former Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt has found his next team, with the Cleveland Browns picking up the 23 year old. Hunt was cut from the Chiefs roster following an off field domestic violence issue, but has been given a second chance by Browns GM John Dorsey. Dorsey, who was GM for the Chiefs the year they drafted Hunt, decided to give the playmaker another chance, adding more young talent to the Browns offense. In a season and a half, Hunt rushed for 2,151 yards and 15 touchdowns. It should be noted that the NFL has not yet punished Hunt, and will likely suspend the running back for at least 12 games next season.
