Brighton v Man City

Manchester City need a win on Matchday 38 of the Premier League in order to snatch a second consecutive Premier League title. City are just one point ahead of Liverpool heading into the final day of the EPL season, and are just one result away from winning back-to-back titles.

Brighton

Brighton have already secured a place above the relegation zone for this season, qualifying themselves for another year in the English Premier League in 2019-2020. The result was more or less handed to them, as they have done very little to earn their placement in the table. Brighton has not won a game in the Premier League since March ninth, going winless in their last nine matches. The goals have dried up for Brighton, who have been shut out seven times in their last nine matches, scoring just two goals over their winless streak. With only one player scoring over five goals in the league, this Brighton side have much to improve on in the summer. On top of their offensive struggles, Brighton will have the tall order of taking on Manchester City on Sunday. Brighton will need a miraculous performance at home if they are going to derail this City team.

Brighton have been in abysmal form ahead of their match against Man City. The Seagulls have went 0-3-3 in their last six matches, and are winless in their last nine matches. Brighton have collected most of their points at home this season, winning 23 points at the Amex Stadium, going 6-5-7 in 18 home matches. In their last five home matches, Brighton have a record of 1-1-3.

Man City

Just one more win. That’s all that this Manchester City team need in order to capture the Premier League title. As all of the other Premier League fixtures on Sunday, Manchester City will kickoff at 10:00 AM EST. Their match will start simultaneously with Liverpool’s match, meaning that they will have to assume that they need all three points from their match against Brighton in order to win the title. Despite the pressure, City will like their favorable matchup against Brighton. Brighton has scored just 34 goals this season, the third lowest total in the entire league. This bodes well for Manchester City, who have went on to record four straight clean sheet victories. With a healthy squad and plenty of time to rest, this City side should come out and dominate on Sunday, locking up another EPL Championship.

Manchester City are in fine form ahead of their decisive match against Brighton. City has a perfect 6-0-0 record in their last six matches across all competitions. Manchester City will be away from home on Sunday, but this shouldn’t affect their play too much. City has been the second best Premier League team away from home this season, going 13-2-3 in 18 away matches so far. City has a 4-0-1 record in their last five matches away from home.

Our Verdict and Best Bets

With huge title implications on the line, Brighton host Manchester City on Sunday. This is a Man City side that can put goals past any team in this league. City have scored the most goals out of any EPL side this season with 91 team goals. Striker Sergio Aguero has played a major part in this goal tally, scoring 20 of them himself. Aguero has scored just once in his last five Premier League matches, but he is our player to watch on Sunday. The Argentinean always seems up for the big occasion, and there are fewer bigger occasions than winning the Premier League. Look for Aguero to be among the goals in a big Man City win.
