As speculation heats up around a number of key players in the January transfer window, West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic is one of the latest.
Amid reports that a Chinese club had had a £35million bid rejected from the Hammers, West Ham United released an official club statement stating:
“Marko Arnautovic has a contract and we fully expect him to honour it.”
Arnautovic’s brother Daniel, who is also his agent has confirmed that a £35million bid has been rejected by West Ham from an Chinese club. He went on to say:
“West Ham brought Marko for peanuts, now they have a fantastic offer for him.”
Manuel Pellegrini when questioned about whether or not he wants to keep the striker said:
“I suppose every manager wants to keep those kinds of players.”
Arnautovic is a player in high demand, and there will likely be more twists around his future in the coming weeks.
