The UFC is in Fort Lauderdale, Florida this weekend with a main card that is packed with interesting draws. “Platinum” Mike Perry is back in the octagon, as well as Greg Hardy. The main event features two of the best middleweights in the division, with the winner expected to get a shot at the title in their next fight. Let’s check out the main card in its entirety below.
Middleweight Division – Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (26-6-0) v. Jack Hermansson (19-4-0)
In the main event of the evening, two very different middleweights face off in what could be the fight of the night. Jacare Souza (#4) is coming off of a huge knockout victory over Chris Weidman (#6). Souza is known for his world class grappling and toughness, and is just one win away from jumping into the top 3 of contending fighters in the Middleweight Division.
Jack Hermansson will enter this contest with great confidence. The Swede is on a three-fight win streak, and has not lost since 2017. Hermansson has finished his last two opponents in the first minute of the fight, catching the eye of Dana White and the matchmakers at the UFC. Hermansson is know to be an unpredictable striker who embraces a chaotic style of fighting. UFC Fight Night 150 is Hermansson’s chance to make a jump up the leaderboards, making this main event a must-watch fight.
Heavyweight Division – Greg Hardy (3-1-0) v. Dmitrii Smoliakov (9-2-0)
Former NFL defensive end Greg Hardy returns for his second UFC fight, facing Russian fighter Dmitrii Smoliakov. Hardy was disqualified for throwing an illegal knee to a downed fighter in his debut, but his second fight will offer Hardy a chance at redemption in yet another co-main event.
Welterweight Division – Alex Oliveira (19-6-1) v. Mike Perry (12-4-0)
Fan-favorite Mike Perry has been called up to step in to take on Alex Oliveira (#14). Both fighters are coming off of losses in their last fight, making this a must-win for these two Welterweights.
